So, apparently our power is back on, and it was all a blown fuse to begin with, only the fuse wasn't in our apartment, it was downstairs in the apartment of a guy called Chippie. What. The. Hell. I look forward to enjoying Electricity! when I get home.
I went and saw Brokeback Mountain, and gosh it was sad. Now I wish I'd read the story first, though. I've tried to be less pedantic about always reading the book first; actually, I've already become much less pedantic about this -- it was Lord of the Rings that did it. I read Fellowship of the Ring and loathed it so much there was no way I was going to read the other books before seeing the movies. And this past semester when I was writing about Rear Window I read the original short story upon which the film is based, and I did not like the story and almost wished I hadn't, though that wasn't really an option since I was writing a paper (the story is much less rich than the movie). Sometimes, though, I do still like to see the source material first.
But anyway, Brokeback Mountain. Sad. Like, I felt all kind of hollowed-out inside after it was over. I thought all the actors were really really good. Everyone was just spot-on, so much so that once in a while I was distracted from the story through being impressed with the acting, which is probably not what they were going for. And the scenery was gorgeous, and beautifully filmed. Also, wow, that was a lot of sheep.

I'm watching Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, and it is dreadful. Now, I'm sure most of you are thinking, well, what the hell did you expect? But I do like stupid movies. Just... this is just awful. I feel like it's been on for hours. I don't know why I'm still watching it. It's dire.
Edited to add: OK, it got pretty awesome by the end.
