And another thing: today on the inbound platform at Harvard a man fell on the subway tracks (!) and another person or persons jumped down and dragged him back up (!!). This apparently happened just before I got there; when I came down, the guy was lying unconscious on the platform and a T employee was radioing for help, and another T person waved down the oncoming train because even though there was no one actually on the tracks anymore, everyone was kind of crowded around the guy on the yellow stripe. I wonder what I would have done if I had been a few minutes earlier and actually seen it happen. I wouldn't have jumped into down into the tracks, I don't think (bad shoes), but I would have helped pull the guy up if someone else was down there. Also, I would have screamed. No paramedics or anything came during the 5+ minutes I was there, which I thought was a bit shocking; I mean, he could have just been unconscious and OK, but he could have been having a stroke or a broken neck or something (he was breathing anyhow).
