So, Friday I went out to Danvers to clean out my car and have dinner with my dad and stepmother and stepsister. Cleaning the car was easier than I expected. There was one big problem though. I had left some of my soapmaking supplies in the car, including a tub of palm oil (aka: movie theater butter). And some of this had oozed out onto the rear driver-side seat. Well, when I say "some", I mean "perhaps a cup or two". I cleaned it up as best I could, but I suspect for the rest of the car's life (and long may it live) no one will be wanting to sit in the rear driver-side seat, at least if they value their clothing.

I have a moral dilemma, though -- you see, the palm oil is completely invisible. You can hardly even feel it if you put your hand right in it. So I could easily sell the car without ever mentioning the palm oil, but eventually someone would sit in that seat and stain his/her clothing, and I would feel bad, not that I would ever know about it, but still. So I guess I will have to disclose that.

I took a MINI from Zipcar out to Danvers. Wow, was that fun to drive. Many of you may know that I am not ordinarily much of a one for driving; I accept that it is often the best way to get from point A to point B, but I'm not really big on The Open Road. But if I had a MINI I think I would feel differently. It was so little! And nimble! And, I suspect, fast, not that I exceeded the speed limit very much! I want one. OK, not really. OK, kind of. (Also, my dad totally wanted to drive it, but Zipcar says no, and on the one hand Zipcar would never know, and I have certainly done worse things involving cars and The Law, but I didn't let him.)

Ooh, also I bought a new watch today, this one. I had had my eye on it, and my watch that I've been wearing turns my wrist green when I sweat (god knows what it's made of) so it seemed like maybe it was time for a new watch. I like it very much, although I think I might have them take another link out of it because it is a bit loose.
