Good lord, I've been lazy about updating, haven't I? And it's not as though it's because I've been all busy in real life or anything.
Today I have been feeling rather crappy, through a combination of a cold, allergies, and hangover; the hangover is not too bad, and was honestly and fairly come by, being the result of my having had way too much to drink at a party last night. Said party was in my building, so I didn't even have to make myself sober up enough to call a cab or board the subway. which was very bad. The allergies are also related to last night, because when I did stumble home, I forgot to take my allergy medicine, which I usually take right before bed. And the cold is not helping. Argh. Also, for some reason this evening I decided to drink sugar soda (Sprite), which I have probably not had in over a year (except perhaps a little root beer) and yurgh. I feel like the sugar has sucked all the moisture out of my mouth.
What else? I took a really nice walk on Friday, when it was really nice out, and I bought fun things at LUSH, and I saw a girl playing bagpipes on the Common, and I had a brownie sundae. The museum was pretty busy yesterday.
We got these little cards from the college where I work, and they have, among other information, demographic info on the student body. According to this card, the student body is 55% white. The kids who come to the library while I am working are definitely not 55% white -- I did a quick count earlier and among people currently in the library, white kids are outnumbered about three to one. I wonder what's up with that. My first thought was stereotypical "model minority" stuff, but actually I bet more of the older students are white, and the library mostly attracts the traditional undergrads. I will continue to investigate, because I am curious.
